It was with great pride that we all witnessed the establishment of the Simulation & Skill Centre on October 22nd, 2020, the birthday of my respected father Padmashree awardee, Shri D Y Patil, who was the Founder President of the D Y P Group. The work and planning that allowed the university to start this center during the stressful months of the pandemic, speak for the commitment and dedication of the D Y Patil Education Society Deemed To Be University to the cause of quality student education. This Centre is an expression of our Mission to provide a dynamic technocracy for educational advancement.

In the short time since its inception, the Simulation & Skill Centre (SSC) has received the accolade of the Fastest Growing Centre in Asia from the CAE Ltd. The laudable activities of the SSC include the number of faculty trained as Trainers, the number of workshops conducted and the number of students who have benefited from the facility.

The facility allows for the full range of student training with the availability of basic models to advanced models, from Blue Phantoms for USG-guided procedures to Vi-Medix for USG & 2D-ECHO. The Surgical Simulators, Patient Simulators like Apollo, Lucina, Luna and the high-tech Augmented Reality (AR)-powered HoloLens allow for training of undergraduate and post graduate students in both clinical and soft skills necessary for patient management.

I congratulate the team of the SSC for the hard work and initiatives taken to make the SSC an integral part of the student training in the disciplines of Medicine, Nursing and Physiotherapy., as well as training non-teaching staff and external stakeholders.

I wish all the very best to the Centre and am sure, it will expand from strength to strength.
